Long Time, No See
It had been a long night, one filled with restless half-remembered dreams. Outside dawn was trying to assert itself over the grim grey skyline. I rolled out of bed with a groan, recalling the last time I got this poor a night’s sleep, back when I was in school.
“School…” I repeated the word aloud, its sound foreign to me.
How long had I been trapped in this wonderland, a week, a month….maybe a year. I’d lost track of the days after the first few missions. For a moment I began worrying what my friends and family would think happen to me. Was I in a coma outside or did I just vanish off the face of the earth?
“No!” I asserted to myself, thinking things like that wouldn’t help me at this point, the time to worry and complain had ended the moment I had taken up my weapon and fought a Homonculus for the sake of survival.
